Tee-ball

Yesterday Johnny had his first ever Tee-Ball game! He was so cute and I loved it! He had a great time and is excited to go again tomorrow. I was taking pictures of my cute big boy and enjoying my son. I told Erik that I couldn't believe that Johnny was big enough to be doing this. He told me to, "Don't be such a Mom, it is only sports and there is no crying in sports." For the record I wasn't crying. Although I did feel like it. For the second, my son did great! I can cry if I want to. All the women in the stands agreed with me and Erik ended up feeling stupid. Although I didn't feel sorry for him. Johnny got up to bat and hit it on the first try right between 1st and 2nd base. Unfortunately the whole other team was standing there and tagged him out at 1st. He actually almost even made it to 1st without being tagged. The first thing Johnny did after running off the field was come and give his Mom a hug and said, "I did it." I was such a proud Mom!

Scrapbook Expo

Bethany and I spent Friday night at the Scrapbook USA expo wearing these horrible tee-shirts I made that had our Crop Because you Care info on them. I only could get these fitted tees and they were HORRIBLE. The expo won't let us advertise there due to that fact that they say we are competition. I don't think we are at all. CBYC is nothing like the expo but whatever. Anyway we wore these horrible tees to advertise for crop and we got vendors info! I think it went really well. Bethany and I had a great time.

Due to the bad financial position we have been in I didn't want to spend anything. Although that didn't happen. But to my defense. I now have Christmas presents done for 5 of my family members. Two of which I had no idea what in the world I was going to do. I also spent $10.00 on lettering for my walls! I could have made them but not for this kind of cost. I bought 4 saying and each of them had stickers on them retailing for $30.00 a piece. I felt like this amazing super shopper. Bethany wasn't much help egging me on to purchase the things I wanted. In all fairness I wasn't much help for her either. I gave in most of the time although I didn't on others. When all was said and done I bought 4 wall sayings and 5 christmas presents! If you take those out of the mix I only spent $9.50 on stuff for me! I was so proud! We were there until midnight then we went out and got food so I was up way late. I don't do late nights as much any more. I am getting to old to stay out half the night then function the next day. But I had a great time! Thanks Bethany!!!

One of Those Days Again

It has been a really hard week. I don't exactly know why. I just know that things haven't been real easy. I have to tell you this morning was the worst morning. Kimmie woke up and was not feeling really well. With her that isn't a gret sign that the day is going to be good. Well it is picture day at Johnny's school. So I went downstairs to get cereal for Johnny before he got dressed so that he wouldn't get his clothes dirty. Anyway. While I was downstairs I realized that Erik got up this morning and finished off the milk. Thank heavens Johnny is easy going and decided he could have cereal without milk although he wasn't happy about it. While all of this is happening I find out that Kimmie has called 911. She is having a nice conversation with them. I about came apart. I answered all their questions and told them not to come. But being the second time she has done this they lectured me on teaching her to not call 911. I called the dispact department for West Jordan city to set up a folder for her. I don't exactly know what to do to get her to stop. I know that she can't do that but she is not real great a listening once she makes up her mind. She says they are nice to talk to. Instead of totally loosing it I calmly called Erik asked him to take his lunch break put her in time out in her room and said she could come out when Daddy got home and talked with her. I don't think Erik has gotten home so fast in his life. He only works 4 miles from home! I logged on the internet to find out that the reason why Kimmie's meds came to my house with the wrong dose is the my doctor only ordered a month supply and not a 3 month supply and so now I have to refile the paperwork with the FDA to bring in the last two months of the three month shipment. Unless they really look at it and look at the dosages, but I won't know that until they get the paperwork. Or they can hold up in FDA holdings until I get this straightened out. I really had a reason for getting the three month supply all at one time. My whole day has gone like this. I really just want to curl up in a ball and just cry for the next few days.

Dating Advice from my kids

It has been a very interesting week this past week. Last Tuesday I went to the 100 celebration of Bingham High. Which I am very proud to say I attended and graduated from in 1993! Anyway it was amazing thing and I will have to write more about it later because this post isn't about that. Erik graduated from Brighton in 1989. So he is coming up on his 20 year reunion. So he wanted to go to homecoming. He took Johnny and his Dad and went to the football game. He arranged a babysitter and asked me to the dance. So I agreed mainly in disbelief that my husband arranged the whole thing and wanted to take me dancing. I love to dance although he is not the most graceful person in the world and hates it. So I agreed thinking he would never actually go. Low and behold he really planned on taking me to Brighton's homecoming. We got all dressed up and went! I had a great time although many young people kept looking at us old people on the dance floor and pointing. I couldn't decide if I had something in my teeth or hanging from me or it was just cuz I am old. Anyway, as I went to pick up Erik from work and get ready for the dance my kids started asking me questions. The conversation went a little like this...

Kimmie: "Mom are you going to kiss Daddy while you are dancing tonight?"

Johnny: "No that is gross, she wouldn't do that."

Kimmie: "Mom so are you? The price always kisses Cinderella while they are dancing. (I don't know which Cinderella she is watching, but I liked the reference to Cinderella).

Me: "I don't know we will have to see." (thinking I really don't want to discuss this with my children)

Johnny: "Good cuz kissing is yucky."

Kimmie: "I think I like it and I will kiss my prince charming some day."

Me: "yes Kimmie." (thinking I hope this conversation is now over)

Kimmie: "Mom"

Me: "What?"

Kimmie: "If you plan on kissing Daddy tonight please make sure he doesn't eat jalapenos with his dinner. It makes his breath stink, and that is really icky."

Me: (trying not to laugh because she was so servious) "You will have to tell Daddy I don't think he will like that very much from me."

Johnny: "Yeah, don't tell Daddy what to eat, that is Mommy's job. (thinking) but it does stink."

Kimmie: "I will because he can't be a prince charming with stinky breath."

Erik gets in the car. I start laughing.
Erik: "What is so funny?"

Me: "Kimmie why don't you tell Daddy your advice for kissing Mommy tonight?"
Erik puzzled

Kimmie: "He won't be prince charming if I have to tell him everything. "

So my evening was fun and we had a great time. I got wonderful advice from my kids. My kids had a great time at KFC and bowling with Grandpa and Grandma!

Kindergarten Teacher

I went to drop off Johnny at school today. I was running a little late. I walked into a mess going on the playground. Apparently one parent caused a huge thing on the playground. Johnny's teacher was standing outside talking with some parents. She looked a little upset. One of the other teachers was holding the door open and told Johnny just to go sit down quietly and his teacher would be in soon. I walked with Johnny in the room and here is a room full of kids with no teacher. The kids were being good only a few of them were up running around but for the most part the kids were sitting on the floor waiting for the teacher and her story. So I asked the other teacher if he wanted me to start reading them a story. He was really grateful and said yeah go ahead. So I started reading this story about elephants. Their teacher walked in and asked if I was okay and said she needed to go to the office. So I told her I was fine and we kept reading. She sent down someone from the office to check on me. We did show and tell and told two stories. Johnny thought it was pretty cool that his mom was in the class. One kid even turned to Johnny and said, "your mom reads really good." I think it is because I commented on the photos to tried and make things longer until the teacher got back. I was really grateful to just be in the right place at the right time. Johnny was thrilled to have his mom in the class. I know that kind of excitement about Mom being in class doesn't last long. He has told everyone that his mom came to his class! So I am feeling like a pretty good mom today! I know that won't last either. So today for about 20 minutes I was a Kindergarten teacher!!!

Stock Car

I have never been a big race fan. Although I after watching the movie Cars and Herbie Fully Loaded about a million times I have started to learn a few things. The building I work in also houses the World Financial Group that is the main sponsor for Carl Edwards. Apparently he is one of the best. Looking at his stats I was pretty impressed. Anyway they brought the stock car out to show off and let the kids sit in it. So here are my kids with Carl Edward's stock car. Kimmie thought it was cool but that was about it. Johnny on the other hand couldn't stop talking about it. He was so incredibly happy it was so cute.

Football Time

Every year around my anniversary it starts... FOOTBALL SEASON. When we got married I didn't understand just how serious this football season thing is. Although over the last thirteen years I have gotten use to most of the football stuff. Even leaving for the BYU games four hours early. My Dad for my birthday about eight or nine years ago gave me a sign that says, "We intrupt this marriage to bring you Football season." Boy is that the truth in my home. To Erik's defense things have gotten much better over the years. He now only checks the scores of most games and watches certain games. Then he listens to the after news sports programs and sports talk radio to catch anything he has missed. Only when I am not with him that is. But I thought we would have a few years before these type of photos would show up. At least until Johnny was old enough to play. For our yard sale we had football pads given to us to sale. I don't know what ever happened to them the day is still kind of a blur. But here is my daughter in football pads.
