Anniversary

This year is a little weird for Erik and I's anniversary. On Monday we will have been married 13 years! I can't believe that we have made it through some of the toughest times in our lives and have survived! With Kimmie and I headed to Chicago next week we can't really do much for our anniversary. We are still trying to work it all out. But honey I just want you to know that I love you and appreciate the husband, father, and friend that you are. I LOVE YOU!!!

Camp Spike and Wave

This week is the annual Epilepsy Association camp. This year Kimmie is old enough to attend. Due to the Chicago trip and her getting worn out so easy lately we decided to have Kimmie attend the first 24 hours and the last about 18 hours. I have to work the camp anyway so it wasn't a big deal for me to be there in case of any problems.

My big suprise is that I can't believe how much her balance improved again after horse back riding. She was only on the horse 15 - 20 minutes. Her balance improved tremendously. We took her riding about five years ago once a week to help her walking. It made a major difference. I can't believe just how fast she took to it again. She got the chance to ride a horse that she rode all those years ago. We stopped taking her due to lack of funds. Although I am thinking I will have to take her again even if it is only for a session or two a year. She was absolutely amazing!

Party

My Dad turned 57 this month. He got sick and so we had to postpone his birthday party. So this last weekend we got together and partied. Happy Birthday Dad!!! The kids had a water party and played a few new fun water games. Including water volleyball. Here is a picture of Laurie, Kimmie and Adrianne playing against Johnny and Brad. I don't know where Zack was?

Then we got out the ATV's which Johnny has named one of Grandma's ATV's Lightening McQueen. He was to scared to go on a ride although would put the helmet on and take a photos. Erik took Kimmie on a ride and I wasn't nice about it. I hate it when my husband makes me be the bad guy. We had decided that she couldn't ride the ATV's and all of a sudden Dad says yes and Mom is the bad guy. So she ended up going. Although she looks cute! She had a good time. But we over did her night and she had some seizures. But she had a great time!

Pioneer Trek

Erik went on Pioneer Trek. We really missed him. Although he had a wonderful time. I am really grateful that he got to go. He has heat stroke and is majorly sunburned. Yes, for the first time in his life he is REALLY SUNBURNED. When he woke up yesterday his lips were so bad, that they puffed out three times the size of normal. He cooked 3 meals a day for 300 people! He said that he is done dutch oven cooking for a while. Although I don't know if I believe that.

Potato Story

Kimmie's favorite thing in the world is potatoes. A friend of mine e-mailed me this cute potato story...

Once upon a time Girl Potato and Boy Potato had eyes for each other, and finally they got married, and had a little sweet potato, which they called 'Yam.'

Of course, they wanted the best for Yam. When it was time, they told her about the facts of life. They warned her about going out and getting half-baked, so she wouldn't getaccidentally mashed, and get a bad name for herself like 'Hot Potato,' andend up with a bunch of Tater Tots. Yam said not to worry, no Spud would make a rotten potato out of her!

But on the other hand she wouldn't stay home and become a Couch Potato either. She would get plenty of exercise so as not to be skinny like her Shoestring cousins. When she went off to Europe, Mr. and Mrs. Potato told Yam to watch out forthe hard-boiled guys from Ireland , and the greasy guys from France called the French Fries. And when she went out west, to watch out for the Indians so she wouldn't get scalloped. Yam said she would stay on the straight and narrow and wouldn't associate with those high class Yukon Golds.

Mr. And Mrs. Potato sent Yam to Idaho Potato University so that when she graduated she'd really be in the Chips. But in spite of all they did for her, one day Yam came home and announced she was going to marry Tom Brokaw. Tom Brokaw! Mr. and Mrs. Potato were very upset. They told Yam she couldn't possibly marry Tom Brokaw because he's just......

A COMMON-TATER

Pioneer Trek

Last Tuesday night a man from the Stake YM presidency called. He asked to borrow all of Erik's dutch oven things for Pioneer Trek and asked Erik and I to go and cook. There was no way both of us could go. Although I felt really honored that they asked me to attend. Erik has been on cloud nine ever since. They fact that they asked a week before the event was really hard. I am really shocked that Target let him work around that schedule. He is now gone on Pioneer Trek and is having a great time I am sure.

We miss him at home. Kimmie had a hard day yesterday and Johnny is having a hard time with it today. I didn't realize how much I relied on him to do things around the house. It was really nice to be home with the kids yesterday. But I really don't take them much and I had to cart the kids everywhere. I was working on things for the Epilepsy camp and so we went all over. I usually do that kind of thing with Erik watching the kids. It made it a really long day. I miss him although I know that he is having a great time.

Epilepsy Thought

I know I have been posting a lot lately. I just was on the IDEA league web site and saw this thought. I love it... I may have to use it for my newsletter although I may not because it might offend. Let me know, I may put it on the next issue.

There are brain disorders worse than epilepsy... the worst is ignorance.

Kimmie's KFC trip

I still haven't written much about Kimmie turning 10 at the end of May mainly because I didn't download the photos until a couple days ago. She is turning into such a beautiful young lady. One of the big things she wanted to do for her birthday is go to KFC. She really wanted to go to KFC with her cousin Adrianne mainly because Adrianne said she had never been before. Although I don't know that I completely believe her but regardless Kimmie wanted to go to KFC. She actually wanted it for her huge family party. My Mom and I totalled up the cost for just the chicken and it was going to run us $175.00 just in chicken. So we told Kimmie she could invite one person and go with Mom and Grandma to KFC on her birthday. Adrianne wasn't able to make it to the main party so she choose her. Plus the idea that Adrianne had never been to KFC floored Kimmie. So these are the cute photos of the two girls at KFC!

HONK

My sister-in-law Jeanette and my niece Lizzy were in HONK! The musical telling of the Ugly Duckling story. I got a few photos! They did a wonderful job. I was really blessed and got to see the show twice! Lizzy is the second one over on the left in the group photo. Jeanette is on the end in the back. She played a great mommy duck. Although she is an amazing mom so that doesn't suprise anyone that she can play a part like this it just is natural. Kimmie was the one we were worried about taking to this play because Lizzy has to make fun of "Ugly." Kimmie doesn't like teasing and Lizzy doesn't have a single mean bone in her body so I didn't know how this was going to play out. But suprisingly Kimmie did really well. Johnny had trouble. He was crying when "ugly" flew away with the swans. He couldn't believe anyone would leave Aunt Jeanette. "Ugly" returns and all ends up happy but Johnny just cried. He is so tenderhearted. Great job Lizzy and Jeanette!!!

Thoughts

Today I am working on my newsletter for the EAU. I always put a cute thought or quote or something on the back page. Today I am having trouble finding something that really fits for the EAU this quarter. But I have a few quotes I really like that I wanted to share. So I thought this would be the perfect place....

Last Day of School

Kimmie had her last day of school today. I am so proud of all of the things that she has accomplished in the last year. One of the things I am most proud of is that she accomplished her goals in physical fitness this year and got the "Presidential Participation Physical Fitness Award." I am really proud of her! Way to go Kimmie!!!
